Description

Prolene Monofilament Suture is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin. This monofilament configuration offers smooth passage through tissue and minimal drag, reducing the risk of trauma during placement. It is specifically designed for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, where extended tensile strength is required for long-term tissue support.

The suture is supplied in a 48-inch length and is blue in color, enhancing visibility during and after surgery. The vivid blue coloration is particularly advantageous during suture removal, as it contrasts clearly with surrounding tissues. The 2-0 suture size provides a balance between strength and flexibility, making it suitable for delicate procedures while maintaining adequate tensile retention.
